When I began to think about VJing, I thought of the wonderful productions I have seen at the several electronic concerts I have been at throughout the years. I am always mesmerized by colors and flow of the shapes. For this project, I want to make a video performance to Shut up & Sing 2.0 by Zeds Dead. My best friend and I have been dreaming of seeing Zeds Dead at the Red Rocks Amphitheater for awhile now but could not go because of COVID-19. My friend and I have shared many moments together jamming out to this song whether it be on a car ride or in one of our rooms. I started to collect images with bright colors that remind me of my friend. For example her favorite cartoon character is Tweety bird and I want to include him in the show. The song is long so I am thinking of cutting it down to 2:30 and letting it fade out towards the end. I think it would be fun to include some footage of my friend too. I want to execute this project on Synesthesia and I imagine it would be performed on a blanket white wall. I am very new to this type of art so I have been playing around with the program to get used to the keys. It is difficult to imagine myself doing performance art since I am so used to a final product being still but I am looking forward to the challenge. For inspiration I am looking back at some of the shows I have been to and seeing the styles the VJ's have chosen for particular sets. I am trying to mimic performances seen at Big Gigantic's show but I am having a difficult time finding the artist.
